Fully Automated Grow Tent

Temperature Control Device
I (finally) received the last piece for my highland grow tent this week - The daytime/nighttime thermostat. With this awesome little device, I can set the daytime temperatures to go up to 80 degrees Fahrenheit and set the nighttime temperatures to plummet to 60 degrees Fahrenheit (or lower). I'm still working out the exact specifications, but, so far, I like it, despite the fact that I have to house it physically in the tent.

This thermostat is not ideal in that it has a light sensor on its face to tell when it's day or night. Unfortunately, that means that I have to keep it where the lights are - in the tent - rather than mounting it outside (as would be ideal with all electronic devices). Still, despite the necessity of buying a couple new extension cords, it has been functioning wonderfully for a few days now.

The fact that I now have an automatic thermostat is ideal. One of the major issues I was facing previously is that I would have to estimate how far to open the window and how high to turn on the fan in order to keep the room at the correct temperature for daytime and nighttime. Now, both fans (the one into the room and the one into the tent directly) are turned on for me automatically when it gets too warm and turned off when it gets too cold. That saves me a lot of time adjusting them every day.

As for the prior controller, which could only keep the tent at a steady temperature, I'm moving that to the lowland tent, where it will serve to create an upper limit for temperatures there. To date, getting that tent too hot hasn't been a problem, but it hasn't been summer yet, either.
