| My two plants from Sarracenia Northwest |
I've signed up for the email campaigns for virtually all the carnivorous plant nurseries in the United States. I like the monotony of spam to be broken by pictures of cool plants for sale! (Shameless plug: If you like the monotony of spam to be broken by pictures of cool plants for sale, feel free to
sign up for my email newsletter, too). Recently,
Sarracenia Northwest had a cool plant for sale that I just had to have...
 |
| Drosera 'Andromeda' |
Drosera 'Andromeda'! This hybrid between Drosera schizandra and Drosera prolifera has been making the rounds on eBay for around $40 a piece. Sarracenia Northwest was offering it for a bit less, and I didn't have to bid! So, I decided to pull the trigger.
 |
| Pinguicula 'Gina' |
I also decided to add on this Pinguicula 'Gina' to help
rebuild my decimated Pinguicula collection. It's a hybrid between Pinguicula zecheri and Pinguicula agnata which is easy to grow and has nice flowers. Since most of my Pinguicula collection consists of hybrids, I figured it would fit in well.

| The box |
As seems to be the trend, the plants were shipped potted. Most places used to ship bareroot, but I've noticed the trend seems to be to ship plants potted more and more frequently. Additionally, because it's winter, I ordered heat protection, which ended up being two heat packs instead of just one. (Something I felt good about because Sarracenia Northwest's price on heat packs is a little steeper than elsewhere).

| Growing Guide |
The plants also came with this growing guide, which I promptly threw out. I honestly didn't look at it, too much, but it was nice to see that the nice design of the website carried over into the literature provided with the plants.
