Drosera of Japan

The Cover
A few days ago, Takaaki Kagawa published a neat little eBook called Drosera of Japan. This neat little English language book covers all the Drosera of Japan and their natural hybrids. Amazon calculates the book to be 83 pages, but those are Kindle pages, so it's actually a fairly quick read. Still, it's a handy guide to the Drosera of Japan, and for a price of only $2.99 USD, it's definitely worth the purchase.

I hadn't previously realized that so much scientific work had been done on Japanese Drosera lately. I also hadn't previously known much about the background of Drosera tokanensis and Drosera x tokanensis. (Spoiler, Drosera x tokanensis is the natural hybrid between Drosera rotundifolia and Drosera spathulata. It's sterile, but fairly diverse, morphologically. Drosera tokanesis, the species, is probably the result of a fertile pairing of those two and, as its sterile cousin, fairly diverse, morphologically).

Also, thanks to Kagawa's  Drosera of Japan, I was able to successfully ID my mystery Drosera as Drosera spathulata. (I hadn't previously looked too hard, but one of his pictures was an exact match for my plants).
