I was recently able to obtain a copy of Carnivorous Plants of the Western Cape South Africa 2009 by Christian Dietz, Alfred Jager, Claus-Jurgen Lenz, and Carsten Paul. It's obviously a self-published book, but one worth obtaining, if you can find a copy.

There isn't much in the way of words in this book, but there are a ton of photographs. Quite honestly, this is best described as a coffee table book featuring, mostly, photographs of amazing carnivorous plants that you can see if you go to certain areas of South Africa's Western Cape.

I scanned a couple pages as examples of the content. As you can see, it's photograph heavy. I really enjoyed reading through this thick book of photographs. It was very much an nontraditional carnivorous plant book and I thought it was fantastic!
Hi natch,
ReplyDeleteI live in the Western Cape and would love to some hiking trips to see some of the drosera in the wild out out here. The Internet has revealed about either the book or the authors. Could you perhaps point me in the right direction, do you know who I can contact or how I contact them?
Thanks a lot natch!
Tom
Hi Tom! I know a few people on Facebook who have been there or have provided me with some information. If you want to shoot me an email at Natch.Greyes@gmail I'll point you in the right direction. -N
