Book Review: Gordon Cheers' Carnivorous Plants

Gordon Cheers' Carnivorous Plants
Gordon Cheers' Carnivorous Plants is a neat little book from 1983. It's only about a hundred pages, and for a used price of about $4, definitely worth a look. While it's certainly not going to replace The Savage Garden, that's mostly due to its age. (Back in the 1980s, carnivorous plants were not as readily available, so there are a few genera which are not discussed. Further, fewer plants were known, meaning some sections are not as comprehensive as they could be).

Nevertheless, it's a fun look into growing carnivorous plants in Australia in the early 1980s. It's neat to think that we still grow some plants, and Cheers does a good job of providing a fairly comprehensive overview of a lot of genera, especially those native to Australia, in only about a hundred pages.
